Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru is keen to work with schools to introduce young people to translating and show them what a creative, varied and exciting profession it can be.
We believe it is important to invest in the next generation and raise awareness of translating as a potential career. We offer a range of opportunities for schools, including translating sessions and workshops, attending careers fairs and arranging work experience placements.
Through our work with schools, we aim to give pupils the opportunity to try translating for themselves, develop their language and creative skills, and gain an insight into the work of a professional translator.

CCC Activities Pack
Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru has created this pack of translating activities for Progression Step 3 pupils, giving them the opportunity to explore the world of translating in a practical and creative way.
Through the activities, pupils will have the opportunity to try translating for themselves, play with words and consider the choices a translator has to make. Our aim is to show that translating is not simply about transferring words from one language to another, but is a creative craft that requires imagination, language skills and attention to detail.
We hope the pack will inspire pupils to enjoy working with the Welsh language and see translating as an exciting and creative career.
