The translation e-workshop

The translation e-workshop provides training via e-mail contact only. It is provided at both Full membership and Basic membership levels, translating into Welsh and into English.

Full level - starting 14 March 2022

The short translation e-workshop will only be offered at the Full level this time.

The aim of the short translation e-workshop is to provide translators with an opportunity to practice and improve their translation skills in their own time, and within a definite timetable and structure. Learners will receive a report on their translations from a tutor who is an experienced translator and a member of the Association’s Register of Examination Markers.

In this short translation e-workshop, 3 days will be given to translate one text of a similar length and standard to that found in the corresponding Full level examination and this timescale reflects the arrangements for the 'homework' piece which is part of the examination. The training will take place via e-mail.

Each tutor will be assigned no more than 8 learners. We, therefore, recommend that you register and pay as soon as possible, and do not leave it until the last minute, as places will be allocated on a first come basis.

The short translation e-workshop fees

Fee: £25 - members
Fee: £30 - non-members

Undertaking a short translation e-workshop into Welsh and a short translation e-workshop into English at the same time counts as two short translation e-workshops, and the fees will be 50/£60.

The closing date for registration is Thursday, 10 March 2022.

The documentation is only available in Welsh.

Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru is part funded by the Welsh Government.
