Text Membership Examinations for Full and Basic membership of Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru are usually held twice a year, in April and in October.
On the day of the examinations, two examinations, each of 2 hours and 5 minutes duration, are held as follows:
PAPER 1: translation into Welsh, held in the morning (10:30am)
PAPER 2: translation into English, held in the afternoon (1:45pm)
The Full Membership examination requires candidates to translate one piece of text and proofread another. Additionally, you must translate a piece of text during the week in which the exams are held. Each piece will be approximately 300 words each.
The Basic Membership examination requires candidates to translate two texts of approximately 250 words each.
Candidates may choose to sit one examination into one language only or to sit both papers.
