Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru (the association of Welsh translators and interpreters) is the national body which leads, develops and promotes the profession in Wales. It is the only professional association for English to/from Welsh translators and interpreters.

Translators and interpreters are specialist professionals. They require specific skills, experience, the opportunity to develop and the ability to refine those skills to generate work of a high standard. Being able to speak two languages does not make someone a translator or an interpreter.

All those listed on this website are fully paid-up members of Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru. They have shown the appropriate level of professional competence by succeeding in the Association’s examinations process, the only way in which to become a member.
