David Bullock

With a PhD in Modern Welsh and Irish, and 30 years professional experience, David is one of the most experienced Welsh translators. He was head of translation at the Welsh Office and deputy head of translation at the National Assembly for Wales. He has been working freelance since 2001 and clients include Welsh Government departments, UK Government departments, higher education institutions and translation agencies.

David has been an examiner for Cymdeithas Cyfieithwyr Cymru’s Examination Board and is chair of its Membership and Professional Standards Committee. He is a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.

David has contributed to translation studies at Cardiff University School of Welsh, the Centre for Continuing Education, University College of Wales, Aberystwyth and at the Department of Welsh, University of Wales, Lampeter. He was external examiner for the Certificate in Translation, Aberystwyth and Bangor Universities, 2008-2012.
